Cookie Policy
BetTrading.net
Effective Date: August 8, 2026
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how BetTrading.net uses them, and how you can manage your cookie preferences.
BetTrading.net is a service operated by JIA Software Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 11905293, whose registered office is at Belmont Suite, Paragon Business Park, Chorley New Road, Horwich, Bolton, England, BL6 6HG. In this policy, "we", "us", "our" and "the Company" mean JIA Software Limited.
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit our website. They help us remember your preferences, understand how you use our service, and improve your experience.
This Cookie Policy should be read in conjunction with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Please review all three documents to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.
2. What are Cookies?
Cookies are small data files that a website stores on your browser or device. When you visit BetTrading.net, our server sends a cookie to your device, which your browser stores and returns to us on future visits. This allows us to:
- Remember your login session
- Track your preferences and settings
- Analyze how you use our website
- Improve user experience and service quality
Cookies have an expiration date. Some cookies are deleted when you close your browser ("session cookies"), while others remain on your device for a longer period ("persistent cookies").
3. Types of Cookies We Use
3.1 Essential Cookies (Strictly Necessary)
Essential cookies are absolutely necessary for the website to function properly. They do not require your consent and cannot be disabled.
Purpose:
- Maintaining your login session and authentication
- Managing your refresh token rotation for security
- Protecting against cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks
- Storing security-related session information
- Enabling basic site functionality
The complete list of essential cookies we set:
| Name | Purpose | Settings | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
refreshToken | Keeps you signed in and manages secure refresh-token rotation | HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Strict, scoped to /api/auth | 30 days |
That is the only cookie we set. Two related points, because they are commonly assumed:
- We do not set a separate CSRF cookie. Cross-site request forgery is prevented by the
SameSite=Strictattribute on the cookie above and by scoping it to the authentication path, so your browser never sends it from another site. - Your cookie choice is stored in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie. It never leaves your device and is not sent to our servers. Clearing your browser's site data will clear it, and you will be asked again.
Your short-lived access token (15 minutes) is held in memory by the application and is not stored in a cookie.
Consent required: no — these are strictly necessary for the service to function.
Without these essential cookies, you will not be able to log in or use protected features of our website.
3.2 Analytics Cookies (Google Analytics 4)
Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website. This information helps us improve our website, identify popular pages, and optimize user experience.
Provider:
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) – operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA
Purpose:
- Track page visits and user navigation paths
- Measure website traffic and user engagement
- Identify traffic sources (organic search, referrals, campaigns)
- Understand device types and browser information
- Analyze geographic location of visitors
- Measure campaign performance and conversion rates
Information Collected:
- Pages visited
- Duration of visit
- Referral source (how you found us)
- Device type (mobile, tablet, desktop)
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Geographic location (country, city)
- IP address (used for analytics, not stored permanently)
Cookie Settings:
- Provider: Google Analytics 4
- Cookie Names:
_ga, and_ga_followed by our Google Analytics 4 measurement ID (the exact second name varies with the property configuration) - Expiration: Typically 12-24 months
- Consent Required: YES – Analytics cookies REQUIRE YOUR CONSENT
- Retention: governed by the data-retention setting in our Google Analytics property. This is separate from the 90-day retention that applies to the anonymous website events we store ourselves, described in the Privacy Policy.
Consent and Opt-Out:
- You will be prompted to accept or decline analytics cookies when you first visit our website
- If you decline, GA4 tracking will not be enabled
- You can change your preferences at any time in the Cookie settings section at the end of this Cookie Policy, reachable from the Cookies link in the footer of every page on our website (before we launch, a Cookie settings link on the pre-launch page reopens the consent banner instead, because the pre-launch page covers the site)
- You can opt out using Google's Opt-Out Browser Add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout)
- You can configure your browser to block tracking cookies
Data Processing and Privacy:
- Google may use analytics data for their own purposes, subject to their privacy policy
- Data is pseudonymized (not directly linked to your personal identity)
- We use Google's data retention features to delete older data automatically
- For more information, see Google Analytics' Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
3.3 No Other Cookies
BetTrading.net does not use advertising cookies, social media cookies, or other tracking technologies beyond those described above. We do not engage in behavioral targeting or cross-site tracking.
4. Third-Party Cookies
4.1 Google Analytics
Google Analytics places cookies on your device when you visit our website (if you consent). These cookies allow Google to analyze website usage patterns and provide reports to us.
4.2 Paddle (Payment Processor)
Our checkout page may load Paddle.js, which may place cookies or other tracking technology on your device for payment processing. Paddle's use of cookies is governed by their privacy policy. We do not store or process your payment information directly.
4.3 Your Choices Regarding Third-Party Cookies
For analytics cookies (Google), you can opt out or withdraw consent through the methods described in Section 3.2. For payment-related cookies (Paddle), refer to Paddle's privacy policy for more information.
5. How to Manage Cookies
5.1 Cookie Consent Banner
When you first visit BetTrading.net, you will see a cookie consent banner at the bottom of the page. The banner offers two choices:
- Accept all — analytics cookies are placed
- Reject all — analytics cookies are not placed; the essential cookie in Section 3.1 is still set, because the site cannot sign you in without it
There is no third, finer-grained option, because there is nothing finer to choose between: we set one essential cookie and one optional category.
Your choice is remembered for future visits, in this browser. It is stored on your own device rather than against your account, so a decision made in one browser does not follow you to another.
You can change it at any time in the Cookie settings section at the end of this document. Every page's footer carries a Cookies link that leads here, so the controls sit beneath the text that explains them and you never have to wait for the banner to reappear. Accepting and rejecting are equally easy, and either takes effect immediately. Before we launch, a Cookie settings link on the pre-launch page reopens the banner instead, because that page covers the rest of the site.
This choice is not the same as the Product analytics setting on your account page. That setting is stored against your account, applies on every device you sign in from, and controls what our desktop application records about the features you use. Changing one does not change the other, and each says so where you find it.
5.2 Browser-Level Cookie Management
Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically:
- View all cookies stored on your device
- Delete specific cookies or all cookies
- Block cookies from specific websites
- Disable all cookies entirely (though this may break website functionality)
Instructions for popular browsers:
- Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data
- Mozilla Firefox: Preferences > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Apple Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and website data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Clear browsing data
5.3 Do Not Track (DNT)
Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" feature. When DNT is enabled, it sends a signal to websites requesting that they do not track your activity. However, this is not a legal requirement, and not all websites honor this setting. BetTrading.net respects your privacy preferences and will honor cookie choices you make through our consent banner or browser settings.
5.4 Important Note About Essential Cookies
Essential cookies cannot and should not be disabled, as they are necessary for our website to function properly. If you disable essential cookies, you will not be able to log in or use our services. We recommend allowing essential cookies at all times.
6. Cookie Retention and Deletion
6.1 Retention Periods
This is the same list as Sections 3.1 and 3.2, stated as lifetimes. Two entries: the one cookie we set, and the Google Analytics cookies that are placed only if you consent to them.
refreshToken(essential, Section 3.1): expires 30 days after it is issued. It is replaced by a new one each time it is used, and signing out deletes it immediately whatever its remaining lifetime- Google Analytics cookies (only if you consent, Section 3.2): expire after 12-24 months
We set no session-only cookie, no separate security cookie and no CSRF cookie — Section 3.1 explains why none is needed. Cookies placed by Paddle at checkout (Section 4.2) are set by Paddle, not by us, and their lifetimes are governed by Paddle's own privacy policy.
6.2 Data Deletion Upon Account Deletion
If you delete your account, associated cookies will be cleared from our systems. However, cookies stored on your local device remain under your control. You can manually delete these through your browser settings.
6.3 Clearing Cookies Manually
To clear all cookies stored on your device:
- Open your browser settings
- Locate "Clear browsing data" or "Clear cookies"
- Select the time range (all time, past hour, etc.)
- Check the boxes for cookies and cached data
- Confirm to delete
Note: Clearing cookies will log you out of BetTrading.net and remove your login session.
7. Security and Privacy
7.1 Secure Cookie Transmission
All cookies containing sensitive information (such as session tokens) are marked with the following security flags:
- Secure: Only transmitted over HTTPS (encrypted connections)
- HttpOnly: Not accessible via JavaScript (prevents XSS attacks)
- SameSite: Prevents unauthorized cross-site requests
7.2 Cookie Data Protection
Cookies are not encrypted within the browser storage, but they are only transmitted over secure HTTPS connections. Sensitive information (like tokens) is hashed or encrypted before being stored.
7.3 Privacy and Consent
We respect your privacy and only use cookies for the purposes described in this policy. We comply with the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR requirements regarding cookie consent.
8. Children and Cookies
BetTrading.net is not intended for children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly place cookies on devices of users under 18. If we become aware that cookies have been placed on a child's device, we will take appropriate measures to remove them.
9. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our cookie practices, technology, or legal requirements. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on our website with a new "Effective Date."
Your continued use of BetTrading.net after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Cookie Policy.
